2/6 (sat) Le Baron de Paris presents " LOVE for HAITI "

Kan Takagi, Yone, KIRI, DJ TAKESHI, DJ KAT and you come together to support the Japanese Red Cross' Haiti relief mission.

The Republic of Haiti is a country on the island of Hispaniola, part of the Greater Antillean archipelago in the Caribbean Sea. To the northeast is Cuba, to the West is Jamaica. It was the first independent nation in Latin America and the first black-led republic in the world when it gained independence as part of a successful slave rebellion in 1804. Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere, with 80% of the population living in extreme poverty and around half suffering from chronic malnutrition.

On January 12 this year, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck the country at 4:53 in the evening, just as children were being called indoors by their mothers. Reportedly more than 150,000 people were killed, and as many as a million were rendered homeless. With most of the desperately poor nation barely able to feed itself, the extent of the devastation is immense.

Please think of all the children who have been orphaned and may even become targets of a per sonal human trafficking and the organ trade. Children are wandering around barefoot, mourning the loss of their parents, brothers and sisters.

If you haven't done so already, please try to make time to help these hapless victims of one of the worst natural disasters in recent memory. The impoverished nation of Haiti needs help from more fortunate people ... Please join us at Le Baron de Paris on Saturday, February 6 and do just a little to help the children in Haiti.
